SVP of Air, Space & Strategic Defense
Leading Tyto Athene’s Air, Space and Strategic Defense business unit is Senior Vice President Hector Pelayo. Hector brings his strong background in military operations and intelligence and over 20 years of proven results and experience in the aerospace and defense industry to the role where he excels at driving the growth and innovation needed to meet the mission-critical needs of the United States Air Force, Space Force, and other defense organizations.
Hector began his career serving in the US Army’s 82nd Airborne Division and the US Army Special Operations Command’s, Special Missions Unit (SMU) at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
Following his military service, Hector’s leadership capabilities were harnessed by AT&T GSI, AT&T’s IT professional services business, where he led in the delivery of global, next generation innovative network, defensive cyber ops (DCO), logistics, cyber intel, mobility and IoT solutions to the U.S. Space Force, Air Force, NOAA, and other USG agencies.
As AT&T’s Executive Director and Client Executive, Public Sector, Air Force and Space Force, he was selected to lead, and successfully managed, the divesture, transition, and integration of AT&T GSI, to Tyto Athene in 2021 to become Vice President of Tyto’s Air, Space & Strategic Defense Division.
Hector previously served as an Advisory Board Member at the University of California Irvine and a Board of Director’s member with the Air Force Association (AFA). He completed Executive Education at the University of Southern California in addition to earning a Master of Business Administration from Pepperdine University’s Executive Program.
