John Coleman

  • Chief Operating Officer

From optimizing organizations for growth and revenue expansion to developing deep customer relationships, John Coleman has navigated complex challenges, orchestrated turnarounds, and led multimillion-dollar portfolios to greater profitability, making him instrumental in shaping the success of each organization he has served. Now, John brings his decades of experience and dedication to performance excellence to Team Tyto as Tyto Athene’s Chief Operations Officer.

Prior to Tyto, John served as President of Peraton’s $1.8B Citizen Security and Public Services (CS&PS) Sector. John spearheaded the delivery of Mission and Enterprise IT services within the Federal Civilian Market, overseeing a team of over 6000 employees and subcontractor partners across more than 200 contracts. Tasked initially with leading the $400M Defense & Homeland Security Sector following the acquisition of Harris IT Services by Veritas Capital, John supported over $6B in further acquisitions and facilitated the integration of multiple civilian businesses, resulting in a consolidated sector. Under his leadership, that sector consistently delivered year-over-year growth, driven by on-contract expansions and new business wins while strengthening customer intimacy across the Homeland Security, Department of State, Financial and Regulatory, and State and Local markets.

As President of OMNISEC International Investigations, Inc. (a part of OMNIPLEX World Services Corporation), John led the $60M Investigative Services Group (ISG) business, providing background investigation services for government agencies. He successfully turned around the struggling division by optimizing organizational structures and negotiating changes in case delivery methodologies. Following that success, he supported the sale of OMNIPLEX to Constellis in Q1 2018.

John’s executive career also included President and Vice President roles at PAE National Security Solutions (formerly USIS) and FCi Federal, following eight years at Northrop Grumman Technical Services, where he assumed roles of increasing responsibility, culminating in his tenure as Program Manager for the $60M per year USCIS-ASC program.

John holds a Master of Business Administration from Clemson University and a Bachelor of Science in Management.
