For example, round-trip data transmission takes over an hour for Jupiter and approximately 2.4 hours for Saturn, creating bottlenecks in decision-making. These constraints demand more autonomous spacecraft capabilities, reducing reliance on Earth-based instructions and optimizing onboard data processing.

Tyto is developing AI/ML models to enhance planetary exploration by:

  • Reducing reliance on Earth-based commands through onboard AI models that enable spacecraft to process and prioritize data locally
