As Senior Vice President of Tyto Athene’s Army and Defense Information Systems Agency business unit, Carl Tegen is responsible for acquiring new business, service delivery, customer satisfaction and business performance. His organization delivers mission-focused digital transformation solutions to DoD customers worldwide.
Prior to joining Tyto Athene, Carl served in several leadership roles at AT&T Public Sector and FirstNet, including VP- Client Executive for the US Army and DISA. He also served in AT&T Labs, managing the development and deployment of the network configuration applications required to run AT&T’s global network. During the World Trade Center disaster recovery, he led the software systems support required to enable the reopening of the New York Stock Exchange, one week after 9/11.
As an Army Signal officer, Carl deployed to Iraq where he led the engineering, deployment, and operation of the Combined Task Force communications network for a multinational operation. At the US Army Communications-Electronics Command, Fort Monmouth, NJ, he served in key system acquisition positions, including Contracting Officer, Chief Engineer for PM MILSTAR (Army) and as the Product Manager for Network management applications at PM WIN-T.
Carl earned a Master of Science in Acquisition and Contract Management from the Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, California and a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College at Newport, Rhode Island. Carl also holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the US Military Academy at West Point, New York.
